About

I'm a designer, photographer, and musician from Tacoma, WA. My earliest memories of designing and the web were in elementary school with Kid Pix on our Macintosh LC II and later some early WYSIWYG software that integrated with Netscape somehow. Clearly the 90s. Haha.

My memory is fuzzy, but I remember making buttons and pages and being really excited about what you could make with a few mouse clicks.

Fast-forward to middle school, I started playing music with friends. We spent most of our time writing, rehearsing, and trying to play shows around Tacoma and Seattle.

This led me into all sorts of design and media production. I ended up making show posters, album covers for CDs, websites, and self-producing our music videos and audio recordings. In college, I decided to focus on advertising and communication to tie all these things in to something more marketable.

Over the last decade, I've continued to build on my skills as a visual and UX designer. I've had the chance to work for tech, gaming, education, and clean-tech clients in freelance and in-house roles.

I truly enjoy working across the spectrum of design from conceptual visual design to solving unique UX problems, building efficient production flows, and the nitty gritty of untangling practical web features.

The DIY attitude I started with still leads my thinking, and I'm always looking for the next challenge I can try to figure out.

Beyond design, I love spending time with my wife, son, and twin daughters. We're deep in the raising young kids phase, but we try to chill out as a family with walks around Tacoma, eating tacos at Red Star, playing Mario Kart, watching Great British Baking Show, and collecting Pokemon cards.

I try to shoot concert photos whenever I can and have been chipping away at new song ideas for my band, Voyagers.

Let me know if you've got a project you'd like to work on together or a music recommendation!
